Jeffrey R. Cares is an expert in Information Age Warfare, distributed control in military operations, and Network Centric Warfare. He served at the strategic, theater, operational, and tactical levels in US Navy, United Nations and multinational commands, including service during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. More recently, at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and the Office of the Secretary of Defence, Cares was engaged in revolutionizing combat models, new technology adoption and planning strategic investment. He is currently providing specific guidance on military tranformation to the Director of Force Transformation at the Pentagon. Cares is a Commander in the United States Naval Reserve, responsible for Command Center operations supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He has been awarded numerous personal awards and unit and campaign ribbons, including the Combat Action Ribbon. He is a certified Antiair Warfare Technical and Operational Expert as well as an Antisubmarine Warfare Operational Expert. Cares co-founded the Newport Center for Information Age Warfare Studies. As President of Alidade Incorporated, Cares provides consulting services to government agencies, defense industry analysis firms and military contractors. He has been recognized by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as one of the top "Innovators and Thought Leaders" of the Information Age.
